New Baby Girl Card with Mo Manning image - Spit Happens / Echo Park Papers

Oh, I've been so busy lately I just can't keep this blog up to date and we've had some
really great weather so who want to sit indoors cutting and glueing when there's
sunshine to be enjoyed :)

Today I've got a New Baby card using this fabulous digi image from Mo Manning
called "Spit Happens" isn't she a wee cutie.
I've also used some digital papers from Echo Park -
Mo will probably want to kill me for this but the eyes just weren't working for me
so I've added a wee bit of ink and rounded them up.

Wedding Card with KennyK's Wedding Dance Digi and Spellbinders Dies

Wedding Card with KennyK's Wedding Dance Digi and Spellbinders Dies

A Wedding Card today using another fabulous digi from KennyK - Wedding Dance.
I've used this wee digi on loads of cards and they've always been popular with the receipients.

This time I've used an Aqua Blue colour which is a lovely summery colour and I've used
the Spellbinders background die Botanic Swirls which I have previously struggled with to cut -
however,
my Grand Calibur machine was making some very strange noises
so to save the bother of having to send it off to be fixed - I took it apart,
as I'm not normally one to be beaten by a few screws.
I'm pleased to say it was really easy to fix as there are only 4 screws and a few clips that can come off.
Three of the Four screws that hold the turning mechanism had come out and one of the clips.
No wonder it was so noisy, mind you some of them were probably always loose and I'm pleased to announce, it's working better now than ever, yeahhhhh!!!

Still not the easiest of dies to cut though, as it has to be well taped down and it takes
several passes through the machine to get a clean cut and to emboss with out any movement.
This card uses approximately one and a half sheets of the cut background.

Images are printed onto 300gsm good quality card stock and I've then paper pieced the
dress and veil in the same White Centura Pearl as the rest of the card so the gleam on the image
matches the lovely gleam on the Pearl card stock.

Digi stamp - kennykdownloads.com - Wedding Dance

You're Fabulous using KennyK's Frieda Flapper

You're Fabulous using KennyK's Frieda Flapper

A thunder storm today, thankfully it didn't last too long and it had been overdue
with all the heat we've been having.
Only sheet lightening this time so nothing very exciting.
Doesn't the air smell nice and clean after a storm, well ours does today
and I hope the sun comes back again, we've been waiting a long time for a summer
and we haven't had enough yet.
***

I've had this wee digi stamp Frieda Flapper from KennyK for a while now
and this is the first chance I've had to colour her - starting this time with Pinks and Yellows
but I think she'll be nice in purples and in shades of bright green.

I got some new dies this week - Fishtail Banners from Die-namics -
had to order them from Ohio, USA, as I couldn't find any here
and I've been looking for some time, thought they'd be handy for Christmas
and just to try them out I've used them here for my sentiment.

Engagement Card with KennyK Digis and Echo Park paper

Engagement Card with KennyK Digis - Teen Idol & Drama Queen and Echo Park paper

We are enjoying the most fantastic spell of hot weather, up to 30 degrees some days
and seeing we had a winter there, that lasted for about 2 and a half years, lol,
it's just about killing us, almost impossible to sleep, and really not good for the crafting
- like, who wants to be indoors in this heat and will the glue and tape hold
or will it melt - here's hoping it's not the latter :)

This is an unusual design for an Engagement Card but I wanted to make it quite sassy
and I thought that these two digi characters from KennyK just suited it fine.
I love the expression on her face.

I've used Aqua and Red - aqua is such a lovely summer colour and
well, always red for love, plus, it's one of my favourites.

Bugaboo Stamps -  http://www.bugaboostamps.com/

This card is using a digi image from Bugaboo Stamps.

I've changed the digi stamp colour from black line to pink line as I thought
those sweet little flowers would look nice in pink and I didn't want
black lined words on my card.
I've also used the Anja Corner Die from Marianne Designs.

21st Birthday Card for Son using a KennyK's digi - Soccer

21st Birthday Card for Son using a KennyK's digi - Soccer

Another boys card, I seem to be on roll at the minute and again I'm using another terrific
wee digi stamp from KennyK downloads.com called, Soccer.

I started this time with an old card sketch from Mojo Monday, but as it was for a boy,
I left out the flower and bow and added a couple of corners and a tag and
switched things around a bit to suit my digi. These card sketches are great as a lot
of the planning is done for you, all you really need to do is choose the papers
and these come from Echo Park, I just loved the big coloured dots.
The 14 is on the football top because this is the number on his own football shirt
and I added the little "O'Neills" soccer balls as they sponsor his team.

Main products used -

Spellbinder die - Sprightly Sprockets
Crafts Too die - Circle

50th Birthday Card using KennyK's "Need for Speed" and Spellbinders "Sprightly Sprockets" (2)

So this is the second card I had to make using "KennyK's Need for Speed"
digital image for the father and son rally drivers.

I've flipped the image this time so he appears to be going the other way.
I've also made my own simple backing papers for this card.

16th Birthday Card using KennyK's "Need For Speed" digi and Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets

So many boys cards being requested at the minute. I always tried to avoid these, as I find them quite hard but the people I know just keep on having sons, lol, so needs must as they say :)

This is a little card (well not so little 18cm square) that I entered into the KennyK Facebook Challenge - "Life In The Fast Lane". A Freebie image (Dirt Bike Mike) was also given, for which I am most grateful
but this rally digi "Need for Speed" suited a card I had to make better.

Actually I had two cards to make using this image, for a father 50 and son 16, both into rally driving.

This is the first one -

And I'm very pleased to say that it won the People's Choice Award
and won me $20 Gift Certificate :)

Thank you to everyone who "Liked" my card

30th Birthday Card with KennyK and Spellbinders and Sizzix Dies

And guess what I have again today - yes, another go with this KennyK image "Victory Kid",
I just love this little digi.

I started this time with a sketch, an oldie from Sketch Saturday-
but I needed more on my card (it's approx 18cm square) than this sketch is showing
so I added a few more embellishments, but you can see how it started.
It originally didn't have the "age medal" hanging like this as I was going to just going to glue it to the top right hand corner and then I came across a card made by Heather at Ricas Haven based on a  similar design and she had added her sentiment like this, by tying it on and I thought that looked pretty cool so I did it too.

This card is for a Rangers football supporter, hence the colours
but I think it ended up more like a USA stars and stripes card.

Happy Birthday Dad - Great Outdoors Card

Happy Birthday Dad - Great Outdoors Card

Did I ever blog this card - I don't think so - as I only started blogging in March this year I've got loads and loads of cards I've yet to add.

This was a strange request - Firstly because it was for a man and I didn't use to make many of those and Secondly - it also had to have a Caravan, Plants/Gardening, a Dog and be Outside.

Soooo, I started with this Mo Manning image "Gardener Guy"
I couldn't find a Stamp/Digi of a Caravan at the time, so I made this one using a combination of rectangles and ovals in my graphics program - I think it works ok.
Although it doesn't show up in this photo, it's a frame type card, with the center part being below the frame.

1st Holy Communion card with Image by Maurie Manning, Marianne and Spellbinder Dies

I'm being asked more and more now to make cards for boys. I used to avoid these as I always found them quite hard, I mean if you can't add ribbons and flowers what do you make.
Then I found the KennyK and Mo Manning digi images along with a few others and it kinda changed my whole attitude to boys cards, I'm having real fun playing with these now.

This card is for a 1st Holy Communion and they wanted it quite decorative, which is just up my street.
It's one of two cards I made for the Godmother and Parents to give.

This fantastic little image is a Mo Manning Digi and as the little boy concerned has red hair -
I just had to give this image that too.

Birthday Card with KennyK's "Madison Attitude" and Spellbinders Dies

I am so behind with my blog posts - I've been flat out with orders. I don't think I've ever had so many personal requests come in, in one month before. Thankfully several of them were for the same theme so I didn't have to design a new card for every request.

This is yet another fantastic KennyK image this one called "Madison Attitude" and just perfect for three shopping theme cards I had to make.

I created the designer names by just typing them up in fonts as close as I could get to the originals.
(hope they don't mind) except for the "Prada" one as I couldn't get it quite right so I 'borrowed' it from the internet :)

30th Birthday Card -with KennyK Victory Kid & Man U theme

30th Birthday Card -with KennyK Victory Kid & Football Man United theme

A boys card for a change and not a Spellbinder or a Ribbon in sight.

The spec for this was actually a "Darts" theme but I just couldn't find anything that I could make a dart card out of, besides a dart board with a pint of beer in front of it and that just wasn't what I wanted to make, so second preference was football so voila!

I saw this Kennyk image and just had to have it, he's so cute and with Man United on the top of the Premiership the champions theme seemed to fit.
I started with an old "Mojo Monday" sketch, least thats were the idea for this card came from even though I didn't stick exactly to the sketch.

I made my own backing papers for this one and used combination of promarkers and Spectrum Noirs to colour the image in - are they ever going to have fine tips for the Spectrum Noirs I wonder, they're much to thick for fine detail colouring.

I borrowed!!! the United Badge image from the internet :)

I am still so loving this Spellbinder Die that I seem to be using it on everything.
"Congratulations and Celebrations" music comes to mind when I look at this stamp but I think by the look on their faces it should be "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas, lol.

Just a very quick posting today as I'm so busy, busy, busy - so many things seem to be happening now and I'm getting a bit overwhelmed with all the cards I've been asked to make. I have loads of others to put up and I'll get there eventually :)

This one is for the girlfriend of a lovely guy in work and I wanted it to look young and springy and romantic. I'm just loving these little bitty blossom dies, it's great being able to make your own flowers in any colour.
Oh and she's driving a black mini car, hence the little mini embellishment - I did put her name and age on the number plate but it's quite hard to see.

I won this little digi stamp Queens Cutie from kennykdownloads in a kennykkraftykrew challenge - isn't she lovely. ( http://kennykdownloads.contentshelf.com/product?product=I1301140000006F5 )

Happy 18th Birthday with Lili Of The Valley Stamp - Emma Shoes and Spellbinders

Happy 18th Birthday with Lili Of The Valley Stamp - Emma Shoes and Spellbinders

Just love this little stamp from LOTV and as I needed a card for Emma's 18th who also loves shoes, fashion ad shopping it seemed very appropriate for my job.

I've been digitally messing around with the backing papers again although there's so much on this card that it's quite difficult to see them. I wanted this card to have lovely spring colours as those are my favourite at the moment, I think thats because it's been so cold of late and this last few days the beautiful sunshine is making me hope we've got to the end of the winter at last. Mind you I'm not sure the forecasters would agree with me.

Happy 25th Silver Wedding Anniversary with Spellbinders Elegant Labels Four

Back again, it's been a while now since I posted but I've been busy, busy, busy - I though this might happen when I started blogging but at last I've got some projects to share.

This is a new Spellbinders die, it's very pretty and this is my first card with it. It's sized to go with a C5 card sort of, but I wanted it a bit bigger. This card measures approx 19 cm square.

I've been a bit naughty here with my backing paper as the original was a peachy colour, I really loved it but I wanted it to be pink for this card, and there's not much point having a computer and printer if you can't put it to good use occasionaly so with a bit of digital manipulation I got the colour I wanted.

Happy 50th Birthday Sister with Kennyk's Chef Digi

Happy 50th Birthday Sister with Kennyk's Chef Digi

I needed a birthday card for a lovely Lady Chef who was turning 50 and this
Kennyk Chef image was just perfect.
I didn't have anything that was suitable as a backing for this card, so I made my own tile effect
and I didn't want it to be just black and white so I added the little bit of red to pep it up
and because I love all things red.
It's just a series of squares turned 45 degrees and copied numerous times -
I hope it makes it look sort of kitchen tile-ish.
I popped in lots of little recipe cards along the top ribbon for effect.

21st Birthday Card with KennyK's, Boogie Down Digi and Spellbinders Dies

Yes, I'll admit it, I'm addicted to these digi'sfrom KennyK and I love bold bright colours.
The spec for this card was for a girl with bright red (Ginger) hair who loves music and goth colours,
so I went with red and black as those are two of my favourite colours too.
I've had this little digi for a while now, so she's long overdue an airing.

Mother's Day with Spellbinders Botanical Swirls & Floral Ovals

Mother's Day Card with Spellbinders Botanical Swirls & Floral Ovals

Well I've had another go with this badboy die - Botanical swirls by Spellbinder.
I think I've now got cutting with this die down to a T, and in general the
embossing ends up in the right place.
Still don't like the fact that it doesn't cut out any of the edges,
leaving you to do all that with a craft knife, but the end result is quite stunning.

This time, I've cut it out twice but used only part of the second cut on this card.
